This video destroyed my soul

Loving YTtalk
For the first time I put some effort into making a video. And it became very clear that I suck at basically everything that involves video making. From talking, to writing, acting etc. Not a pleasant feeling, but still, I know the experience will translate into better future videos.
I can see tons of space for improvement, but I'm interested in your perspective on it. What would you change/add?

hi bud great video, your equipment is great i thought, sound , image seemed really great.

To be honest you seem natural on camera and have something interesting or stimulating about your character which i find is the route to all success on any you tube videos when watching a video where the main focus of the film is your self , not in a freaky way lol.

Coming from the uk, i found it sometimes hard to understand some of your words ( i do this my self and i'm from the uk haha ) so i would maybe suggestion trying to end the words fully and clearer but in return that can then come across as too scripted so its a gamble i think. On your actual content i did find my self drifting off and not listening so maybe adding a little more video clips or quick animations would help, pulling our attention back.

In all honesty i found your video quality, content and change of pace in your speech really good, far better than many top rated you tubers, i also was very pleased to see that you didn't wave your hands around like an idiot like so many are doing these days thinking it keeps retention when it doesn't. its hard to give feedback on content you may not find interesting anyway and i don't really watch videos that tell me to think. I do enough of that my self haha but over all buddy i would be proud a man, that's a dam good video, your skills are pretty good. I'm not sure there's many around with much better quality for a stand alone topic video. So yeah i would try adding a few more funny clips or so forth just to stop them from leaving and bring them back to the topic.

Well done man, that's a pretty fine video, great effort and work bud. Top draw stuff compared to much rubbish that's on you tube. I actually went to your channel to watch it, very good indeed.

That's encouraging to hear! My script was all over the place, and my diction is really bad. It's weird because I could swear I said all the words right, but then when playing the video back, it sounds like I don't get to finish a lot of them.
The pacing of the words, my facial expressions and my movements were all exaggerated to some extent.
And let me thank you again for the compliments on the quality. Specially because it was all recorded with a sony hdr cx 116 (cheapish handycam). And the sound, with a good mic, connected to my phone.

Yeah i checked a few of your other videos too bud, and i'm wondering if my first impression was wrong , i actually got a feeling of your character after i watched another so i wouldn't change it too much. To be honest it may just be your accent that i wasn't use to and when you start changing that it begins to start to sound very scripted. I did this and i sounded like a posh plonker hahaha. Man your sound was quality, for me anyway. When the music started to kick in i was like " hear we go, get ready for the drown out " but the speech just rode above very easy and it left it a good mix.

again nice vid , i did enjoy your other video tho , that made me laugh.

Great stuff bud , keep up the videos. :)

That would be the case, hadn't the music and speech been equalized to fit with each other (though it could have been done better in some parts. But I was pretty annoyed for working on the same video for so long, so I got lazy). It was surprising to see how loud the music was allowed to get once "treated" to not compete with my speech frequencies! The original file would have to be much, much quieter.

You're WAY under estimating yourself. I thought it was pretty good.

The intro music/sounds effects were too loud though, although I could still here you.

Keep at it man! (Guy above nailed what I had to say on the head)

Yup. And later on the music starts to drown me again. Next time I'll hang to the video an extra day to fix such mistakes.

I agree with the other people dude. seriously your video was great. you were organized you chose multiple clips and pics that exposed your point very clearly.

Thanks man.
But there is indeed a whole lot of space for improvement. The script isn't focused, it's lacking quite a lot of explanations to many individual claims, and just the way the sentences are formed isn't up to par with what a well spoken person would come up with.
I rushed through it because it was very frustrating to not be able to talk like I want to, and induce the desired emotion onto the viewer. I felt worthless for trying so hard, and getting such bad results. I can't tell how how many days and nights I spent in front of a mirror (more than a whole week for sure), practicing just the first paragraph, and recording takes on top of takes, and all I got was rubbish. Until one day I was p****d at my failures, and just started recording, and didn't care if it came out good or bad. And that's what ended up being in the video.
The pacing of the video, though not too bad, isn't also anything spectacular. The sound could be better, and a whole lot more details.

It`s the same thing with me. I just started with voice over and it`s terrible :( . Your video is just fine compared with mine or other youtubers. Keep up the good work.
