I was about to apply to join a Network but was faced with the choice of having to accept the Network using an App to check into my account. It looked pretty intrusive. One of the requests was to be able to 'manage my youtube account'. The 'i' stated -
View and manage your videos and playlists
View and manage your YouTube activity
Is this normal/standard procedure? Seems a little risky to me but this is my first rodeo so I don't know.
Thanks in advance.

But it's not needed to link a channel in any way, networks use an API connection to pull details on application, like viewership numbers, demographics etc. (Google actually requires this also from MCNs as of recent to ensure that channels applying are actually who they say they are and not someone filling in a form for someone else)
