The worst thing as a Designer.

Hahaha... I think the worst thing is when they can't explain properly what they want. So they just give you very vague and not useful descriptions of how they want something and when you show them what you make they aren't satisfied at all but have no way of telling you what's wrong other than saying that it's not what they wanted.

Oh god. I can go on about this for hours, but i wont ;)

What I mainly hate is not being appreciated enough for the work you provide.

I remember seeing this person's background and noticing that they needed a more welcoming design (the last person just put pictures together using gimp).
I created one for them out of my spare time and they said they liked it and they happily used it.
HOWEVER, they wanted constant updates and nothing was ever perfect.
I spent hours on different designs and all i got was "meh, i dont really like it. Try something else. More shiney"
WHAT? MORE SHINEY?. I could splatter glitter all over it and it still wouldn't be shiney enough for you!

Another would be creating drawings for others to use as thumbnails or avatars.
I would get people inboxing me to create a thumbnail for them in exchange for nothing.
literally messages like:
"Hey, I need a minecraft thumbnail. Draw one for me. Bye thanks."

WUT.
People don't understand how much time i would put into a drawing for them and they couldn't decide what they actually wanted.
So, i permanently stop doing requests and only comply when its my CLOSE friends.. .*sigh*

I hate when people can't seem to read english and fill out an order form wrong, or they call you s**t because you ask them to pay upfront as a security policy so I don't get scammed. Or when they say: 'You decide what it is' like WTF? I'm already a busy enough person! I don't want to stop for 20 minutes and choose a colour a gazillion times until you like one!

I never noticed designers had it that bad......everytime I ask someone to do something for me knowing I can't pay I always credit there work and always appreciate what I get in return even if it wasn't perfect like how I pictured it in my head. I mean. It's someone else doing something your picturing in your head as perfect. it's not like they can jump in your head and see it with there own eyes but they try there best to visualise.

Everytime I want something I try my best to include every detail of everything I want. colors and everything before I even go ask them if they can make me something. As I hate bothering others for things haha.

I always thought people did it like I did..guess I was wrong!

But now that I see how others treat guys and gals who do this type of work that way it saddens me but yeah! GO ON AND BE AWESOME!:cat2::cat2::cat2:

The worst thing I can think of that happened to me..

Someone comes to you with a requests but they only say "I want this image to be somewhere in the design, you have full control over the rest"
Then you design something and suddenly they have a million other things, colours they want, things they want to change... gosh I don't get paid enough to have the effort to do that for you :L

I think it's annoying when people say 'I'll pay if I like it' that's like saying I'll pay if I like my ice cream

I would have literally called for an orbital facepalm multiple times when after days of working on a larger animation, a client wants to change some minor detail in the scene. Let's say we have an architectural visualization and after multiple days of modeling/texturing/shading/animating and nights of rendering the client suddenly wants to remove that flowerpot that is visible the entire scene. Sure sounds easy, right? Just get rid of that pot and it'll be fine. What it actually means that the whole thing needs to be rerendered because you can't just simply 'take' something out of a video, the bloody plant casts shadows onto the scene and it's reflected in the windows and water. There goes time and electricity used for rendering, down the drain. I'm not implying that the client needs to know ins and outs of the artists' work, but some insight would be nice. I wouldn't ask my house to be built in a day, and I know close to nothing about building.
"Just remove the pot, kthxbai..."
