I'm at the stage now where each subscriber I lose, is motivation to gain another one back..

So I try and make the next video as good as I possibly can, and it hasn't failed me yet.

I wouldn't worry so much about the number of subscribers as I would the number of views per subscriber. You could have 1000 subs and only 50,000 views, or, you could have 100 subs and 200,000 views. I would take views over subs any day.

Especially when you lose one, gain one, and then lose one. It's like one step forward, two steps back...

But yeah, getting used to that and using it as a motivator is probably the best way to go.
