The "why are your subs so low?" Comment

Then I guess I'm not as good as they say and everyone gets it too. Ok that's fine
Had a quick look through your channel but wouldn't call it bad at all, I just wouldn't get too hung up on the quality of those comments. Just keep working on improving your videos and also analyse how big you can get in your niche. Research others in your niche and see if they are bigger. If not, you just might hit your viewer ceiling.

I have about 650 subs and I may have had that comment once. I would just assume it was sincere and thank the person for their kind words.

Sometimes I will get a comment like "nice video as always" but otherwise the comments are usually different. I need to work on my connection to my subscribers more and really get my values across to them better.

Yesterday I was part of "Video Creators" live stream and the amount of people BEGGING (spamming) for subscribers was ridiculous! In the end what you want is a subscriber who is a true fan of what you do on YouTube and really wants to come back to see the work that you put out there. Not someone who is just a number, not a true viewer.

I get it now and again. I honestly believe some of them actually think that way (I hope so). Especially the ones that are your subscribers and you notice they would come back and comment on other videos as well over a period of time OR they were just being polite. Either way, I'm thankful.

I think it's one of those stock compliments that people use. I wouldn't read too much into it, really. It's great that they like your stuff, or if they're just using it to try to get you to check out their channel, then it's pretty mild, really.

I fall into your large YouTubers category because I have more than 1,000. I've gotten a handful of comments like this. I've also gotten comments asking why I have so many. I just reply with whatever comes to mind at the time.

so it's been about 6 months in for me, and really since the first 2-3 videos I keep getting comments like "this channel is going to be big" "you have a future on YouTube " and "why do you only have 50/100/200/300etc subs? You deserve way more" this is without people saying sub me back, join my shoutout Sunday or any other horse crap. Just a sincere statement. Though those sub for sub comments do happen as they do for everyone.

Now I'm not saying this to brag about myself. If you never watch me, fine, it's not about that. It's basically two questions I have for anyon here

1- answer if you have under 1000 (or consider yourself small still) subs do you get the same comments and how often?

2- if you have over 1000 and are very big, did you get them as you were starting out? Did they come back later and say " I told ya so"?

And for everyone, what do you reply with?

I wonder what these people consider big? I really want to say "because I don't sub for sub and don't constantly ask to subscribe in the videos like everyone else " but I usually just say because I just started out, which they may not know.

I get them ever so often and mostly I react with a thank you and a hope so  I got hem when I just started and now sometimes still but more sub4subs sadly :(

I think as well these comments if they are sincere (I'm not saying they're not) - not everyone has the same taste in videos, or levels of quality etc. So what may be 100% for one viewer, may be 0% for another hence why these comments don't equate to 1,000,000's of subs.

I'm on 713 as I type this and I've been lucky enough to have some incredible comments like, "You're gonna be famous!" or "You deserve more subs!" or "I want this channel to do well!"
Honestly, to receive feedback like that is remarkably humbling. I always make sure to thank the person as much as I can because it's so genuinely kind of them to say that and I'm honoured that they view me as ... well, good enough, I guess!
