The Unwritten Rules of YouTubing

The internet is full of stupid people who want everyone to take theor opinion as the highest word and dont accept anything else
Thats why i only talk abot politics and religion with friends an family

Big turn off for me is VERY long intro. Like 10-15 second generic dubstep free template intro and then way too long explanations + asking for sub, like, etc before I have seen even tiniest part of the video (and player is showing 2+ minutes) - occasional stuff like that I can tolerate, but if it is in Every. Single. Video and those videos arent good enough for it to tolerate I always just leave the channel and never come back.

Done a couple of talks like that (at the start) but tried to make them at most 30-40 seconds and with simply "Hope you enjoy the video" instead of "sub for more, give it a like so we can reach XYZ likes, tell me in the comments how great the videos was and I will say something else to my poopy mic from Tesco for €5" :)

So not sure if this should be unwritten rule, but some tolerance to people from youtubers (not everyone has 10+ hours to watch videos) is always welcomed :)

lol, I am one of THOSE youtubers that doesn't reveal my real name. I think it is a good idea anyway, you don't want people all up in your business. I would say something Youtubers shouldn't do in my opinion is do SWAPS with sketch people you don't know. Also, religion and politics should be discussed depending on the type of channel you have. If you have a fairly commercial, mainstream channel, that is about mostly unimportant topics like beauty, or gaming... Yeah, talking about religion or politics is pointless. Speaking of which... I need to go record my video about my views on Donald Trump. TTYL8ER lol

The art of good business is being a good middleman

Same for parties, never discuss politics, religion or UFOs because everyone has their own very individual opinion. Unless you really know what your talking about and your up for citicisim and lengthy discussion, Id stay away - especially if you are an entertainer.

Personally think controversy is 1 of the best ways to gain interest, everyone loves an argument, I do this kind of technique on my Facebook page

I dislike when people heavily edit their videos...it's unnatural and distracting to have the speech repeatedly clipped. Also dislike when people make the habit of saying "um" or "like" a billion times. Maybe that is why so many heavily edit lol!

My unwritten rule would be is to not go to far with certain things. Like don't try to talk much about religion or lets say if your filming an action movie try not to get to gory with blood and stuff like that. It may and probably will offend someone. One other thing I just thought of is ignore the negativity. It's almost a guarantee that someone won't like your video and post something negative in the comments. You just gotta deal with criticism properly and move on from it.

You say to ignore the negativity but then say deal with the criticism properly? Those two actions completely contradict each other.
