The Unwritten Rules of YouTubing

Vidcast

YTtalk Mad
So I was planning on making a video about things that all YouTuber's should try to avoid doing. I have a couple of ideas, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had some that they thought of, I think it's quite an interesting topic.
One of the ones I had in mind was 'Keeping your private life as private as possible'. I see some people with like their entire life story on their channel, topics that may be awkward to look back in a few years (like relationships) and stuff like that. Obviously you can give away somethings, but you get some YouTubers who don't even tell you their real name which is really interesting.

So let me know below, I think it'll be fun :)

Hmmmm... Most YouTubers avoid talking about things like Religion & Politics as they are quite controversial topics. :p

I'd say that politics are probably one of the biggest discussion on YouTube at the minute really, with Donald Trump and David Cameron and all that. And then obviously there's all the police shooting black people last year, I think it's a topic taht shouldn't be avoided bc it's just kinda hiding the truth if we ignore it, but thank you anyway :)

I hear (see) where your coming from...

But I'm of the mindset that I want the audience to know as much as possible about me and withhold info that I don't want to indulge. Its all up to the youtuber in question - would like to see the video once you finish it though :)

I think staying away from things like relationships is important though, because if you split with them on bad terms, and they're in most of your videos, you'd have the decision of deleting all your videos or seeing them as a constant reminder. You'd also get subscribers posting awkward comments and stuff. I think there needs to be guidelines

Never ever and I do mean Never do Sub4Subs. Sub4subs only hurt channels, a channel could have 10,000 subs but only gets a 100 and Youtube will not help out that channel. For Youtube the most important thing is views and watch time if you focus on that you will be much better of.

Also, don't ever plan on buying views or subscribers your channel will be killed buy a Youtube Sniper.[DOUBLEPOST=1453139560,1453139534][/DOUBLEPOST]
Depends on what kind of channel you are, I suppose.

I think rule number one is just dont be a reaction channel...
You could be on the Fine Bros React channel though.

I think talking about politics and/or religion is a bad idea because many people have different opinions from you and if you have a different opinion then they might not want to watch you and you could be losing views.
