The ultimate way of growing a small channel!

I've Got It
Drum roll please!...what, no drum roll? Well ok then :/ the ultimate way for you to get your channel off the ground is...

SHARING YOUR CONTENT! Or giving men their daily dosage of boobs *cough*.

But seriously, I found this to be the most effective way of growing a channel. Though this advice has been given out thousands of times, it has been undermined and all ways of "sharing content" have not been fully explored or undermined by other people.

Now, you'll look at me and say "Well, you're a small channel, this advice you're talking about is obviously *insert negative comment here*". Yeah that is true, but I'm merely less than three weeks old, so 130 subs and over 2,000 views isn't too shabby for being new. Or maybe it is shabby, oh...*assumes fetal position*.

Now, onto sharing. Most people come up with the idea of posting on a forum or telling friends about their content. While these two common ways are very good ideas, most people still complain or give up when seeing that their channel is still very small. Rome wasn't built in a day. You just have to be persistent and you'll begin to see progress.

Now, lets list and explain some ways to share your content.

#1- Tell your friends/family/close ones: The best way to begin and grow your channel would probably be to share with those close with you. They'd definitely be the first to support you and your goals. This also can be a gateway for other people to find you. A friend tells two friends. Two friends tell four. Four friends tell, well you get the idea :p the word of mouth is a powerful tool.

#2- Internet forums: Heh, you're all here, so you should get the idea. Websites such as Ytalk and others are a great place to share your content with others. Make use of the tools on their sites to get across to other users. Find people who would fit well in your community/like your content and talk with them!

#3- Social media: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+ *really guys, you use Google+?*: The internet is a series of tubes *ha!* that connects millions of users worldwide together in an instant. Now, it's not guaranteed that millions will come crawling to you at first, but you'll definitely gain some loyalty/views here. Friends, friends of friends, unknown people...finding a group here to share with is key. A click of the mouse could lead to a loyal fan in an instant. This also leads to others sharing your content. Twitter and Tumblr make usage of tags which allow you to get content out to others who don't necessarily follow your content but could be potential fans due to similar tags they follow.

#4- Conversations through Youtube: This is big for me, and what I do a lot. If I come across someone watching a video with content similar to mine I may send them a PM. I'll chat with them and eventually share my video. You'd be surprised, I received a LOT of feedback this way. People respond to this! Not everyone does, you may even get some hate filled messages *SPAMMER I F***ED YOUR MOM*, but you will attract a following of users. People will check out the video and some will definitely stay with you.

Now these are only a few ways to share, but honestly guys...share your content! Whether you realize it or not, it's the foundation that Youtube is built off of. It's how viral videos are formed and how successful accounts come about. People share their own content, other people share their content, even Youtube shares content in the recommended/advertising portion of the website!

What's important to keep in mind though is that the best way to gain a loyal fan when sharing is to connect with them. Don't come across as a heartless selfish human being. You know what I'm talking about... *sub 2 meh plz, sub for sub for sub for subway, liek mah videoz nao!* Be heartfelt and kind. Share interests. Develop a dialogue with people. These are incredible ways to gain a follower for life. Don't be afraid that someone will hate you for sharing something with them. Of course there will be those hateful trolls but you'll always find diamonds in the rough. Get typing and share or so help me God I will!- *REDACTED*

Well I think this is long enough *looks up* ^.^ I hope this helps someone or a group of you. That's just my little bit of advice. Don't underestimate the power of sharing and ways of sharing content. It has been said before, it has been undermined/fallen aside, but it definitely works. I mean pfffft, I don't mean to brag but 130 subs in a little over 2 weeks from sharing hohoho I'm kind of a big deal, sub for sub and for subway plz ;) :D

This whole post could be summed up in one word: Networking.

All of these are good tips, I however avoid sharing with friends and family since they don't care, and PMing people on YouTube.

Hmm Hmm.. Recaping what i already did in this time.. I think i already did all of that.. And, it's sure work!

Persistence, persistence, persistence...Rome wasn't built in a day. It's work, but you'll see a pay off.[DOUBLEPOST=1376276077,1376275985][/DOUBLEPOST]

1- Are you absolutely sure they don't care?

2- Why so, unless it's just that you don't want to. It works as long as you initiate a conversation rather than act like the *sub me* kind of person.

1. Oh I'm definitely sure. My family especially doesn't use the kindest of words when it comes to my YouTube channel. They refuse to watch it. And my friends (or lack there of) just shrug me off.

2. I've tried this before and have had week long conversations with people, but whenever I try to mention checking out my videos I am immediately ignored, hated, and sometimes blocked. It's great to have conversations with other YouTubers, but I wouldn't consider it a good promotional tool.

Well then ;_;

It's not necessarily other youtubers, but regular people commenting on every day videos. I see someone who likes say Minecraft, I chat with them, I share one of my videos and they join along.
