The Sad truth about my first 1,000 Subscribers

Yeah that's why I dont subot or sub4sub. It doesn't bring in any "real" subscribers. Your view to subscriber ratio will become horrible. Not worth it in the long run especially if you want to make a career out of it.

To be honest, View is more then subs. here a lession dont rush to get 1k subs, work hard earn it. because if you work hard subs will come to you. :) aleast you are honest and you going to change right.
Thanks for the encouraging words. Sometimes it feels a little hopeless that subs will come, but I feel like part of it is forgetting about the numbers and remembering that YOU enjoy doing this lol

I can tell you right now its really, really, really , really hard to grow a gaming channel. You need a lot of friends etc to start off honestly. Luckily I was already involved in a community so that gave me a little boost. You should build up your social medias etc and you will see results.

I think it is important to not worry at all about growing the channel. At least, not as a top priority. Here's why:

In 2006, I started drawing a web comic with a friend of mine helping out. We both wanted it to do really well (we were shooting for something like Penny Arcade levels of success) but after a few comics we realized that it wasn't catching on. We both kinda gave up on achieving "fame" from the comic. But after a while I found myself drawing a new comic every 3-5 weeks or so - not for any exposure, but just for fun...keeping the idea alive.

Well, now I've got over 150 comics drawn. A few of my friends like the comics and on the rare occasion someone asks to see my art, they are always impressed by the commitment I've shown to it over the years.

I understand wanting maximum exposure and wanting lots of subs, fans, etc. - we all want that. But 10 years later, I can look back and say that I at least accomplished something of value in that time, while my other friends sat around, smoked pot, and accomplished nothing. There is pride in the achievement.

I'm starting to ramble so I'll just say that sometimes we should enjoy the journey for what it is, even if we never reach our destination.

Have a great day!...It's almost the weekend :D

we've made 75 videos now, and quite literally bled, burned, sweated and toiled however we know every single one of our 41 subs (apart from the 20 odd friends) have done so because they like our amazing creations and silly antics. fair play to you though, and id never knock you, everyone is doing this for slightly different reasons, i think we expected to have a million subs and be living in Spain by now but where would the fun be in that?

I am so happy that I have stopped doing this, I have found myself much more excited seeing a new subscriber and where they came from and how they found my channel. It's much more worth waiting and riding the full ride than trying to get some quick subs. I actually enjoy putting out videos a lot more and everything in general. I only stopped doing this a week to two weeks ago and I already feel like a million bucks compared to what I was feeling.

You shared your experience.....that's great. And you're right "Don't do something if you don't enjoy it, do what you love because you love it"....& that's the reason I always said always try to do something that you're passionate about. If you're passionate about what you're doing it might be not a problem for you to keep making quality videos when you're not getting that much subscriber :)
