The Ripple Effect

I Love YTtalk
Normally, I do Hot Wheels-type videos. This past weekend, I did a Lego MiniFigures video. I explained that they fit my collecting style in that they are small items, affordable, and well designed and built. Plus, Hot Wheels made a truck (Fig Rig) that has posts in the bed that enables a MiniFig to stand on it!

I did get a few comments that asked 'why was I doing Lego' but they were fine. I only got 10 thumbs down on 5800 views so that is normal. Unless I had tremendous backlash, I would keep doing them. They are not my area of expertise but I can still make entertaining videos with them.

Now, the ripple effect. I sub to many toy car channels and now I am seeing them do Lego MiniFig reviews. :whistling2:

Do you notice a ripple effect in your community?

Unfortuantley not at this time, as I am only nearing my first 1k of subs and many are not as active as I would like :(

Well, one would have to have a community for that to happen now wouldn't they? Haha, but the same kind of thing happened with my friends, a couple of months ago I started a gaming channel on the side, what do they do? Start a gaming channel. I get bored, close the channel in about six months, what do they do? Fill in the blanks. And they all played more or less the same games as me. xD I took it as flattery though.

Of course. But since running an YouTube Channel often means that you need to adapt to your environment to be able to keep pushing most of the time we are trying to help eachother instead of trying to play the lone wolf which sometimes kinda look strange to be honest, specially on YouTube :D

Hey, I just checked out your channel - nice work :)

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" I suppose is the concept in play here ;) It sounds like you are being considered as one of the movers and shakers in your community and they're trying to ride the wave in terms of trending.

I think everyone watches other peoples videos for inspiration on many levels, it just so happens that this is more blatant.

I am definitely the innovator and leader in my genre. I wouldn't say I'm the long wolf though.
