The Promotion Masterlist - Best Outlets

Reddit is very unforgiving when it comes to self promotion. Reddit is mainly for curators, but it builds trust on the user in karma points.

Google plus has a feature called communities. There's even an Instagram community, and a YouTubers! Community (created by Brownlee).

A few weeks ago a few bots overran the communities. I reported on those bots and got them busted. You may thank me for that:)

Ah, that's wonderful! To summarize what you said:
  • Google+ - plus.google.com/communities, search "Youtubers!"

Also, that's true what you said about Reddit, however it doesn't apply for the subreddit I linked. That subreddit is unique in that it is set up specifically for people to share their links in a looonnnggg list of links. So that's the good news.

Gonna add to an old thread here..

These are more ways to promote on Twitter:
#newtubenation
@youtube_rising
@youtubersunify
@youtubershouts
#supportthetube
#onlinecontentcreators
#smallyoutubers
@youtubepromox
#vlogshare

Hey everyone! Forgive me if this thread is repetitive, I just thought it would be helpful for everyone to list the places they promote their videos. Can I also politely ask that you list your outlets in a list or bullet format so that they are easy to browse? A short description may be helpful too.

I'll get it started:
  • Personal Twitter - using key hashtags
  • Reddit.com/r/NewTubers - the new YouTuber subreddit for sharing video and channel links
  • Personal Tumblr - using key hashtags
  • new-tube.tumblr.com - submit video and channel links
  • youtubeconnect.tumblr.com - submit video and channel links
  • YTtalk - be an active member in the community
  • Google+ - linked to YouTube account, post automatically

Not Sure if this fits in but,

-Comment on plenty of videos in your genre!

(not saying "look at my channel" but just something about the video. Some people will look at your profile if you leave a smart, witty comment, but no one will if it's blatant self-promoting)

agree! good one!

Thanks a bunch for this!

Twitter - Interacting and following people that would love my content (especially new videos) by searching keywords.
Reddit - Currently building a presence on gaming and singing subreddits
Soundcloud - Interacting and commenting on other people's stuff
Facebook - Sharing my videos on my channel and personal pages
Snapchat - Including clips of my vids in my stories
Youtube - Finding people who have similar content and dropping a genuine compliment

I have a list of my social media somewhere, just can't remember all of them right now.
