The New YouTube SUCKS !

*slams head against desk*

FOR CHRISSAKE, NONE OF YOU HAVE ANY BACKGROUND IN WEB DESIGN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE PLETHORA OF DEVICE SIZES THAT ARE ENTERING THE MARKET DAILY, AND YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT THE DATA IS ON SITE RETENTION, NOR THE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE OF CLICKTHROUGH BETWEEN TEXT AND IMAGES IN ABOVE-THE-FOLD CONTENT. YOUTUBE IS BIGGER THAN YOUR PIDDLY-a** WHINING.

*blinks* Sorry, I had a Lewis Black moment.

See I had to re-read it with Lewis Blacks voice in my head and the arm gestures.. it made more sense and was far more entertaining then when I read it the first time.
My outlook on life is don't complain about the things you can't change... All that happens when you complain is that you change, but never into anything good.

Ca....calm down......*backs away slowly*...it's alright man....*spills tea while shaking* O _ O

I didn't like the layout at first either, but I've since grown to like it. I didn't like that they took our backgrounds away, but the graphic design creativity is still in the banner, and the thumbnails :) I actually like how my channel looks, it looks professional and cohesive. And I think my views have gone up since I've started using it!

^ Yup. What gisikw said is exactly right. This is why I never complained about the new design. As a web designer who's worked with some large companies (WWE, Summit Entertainment, FYE, etc.) I can tell you that there's so much information and thought that goes behind every design that 99% of the users will never realize. They didn't just wake up and say "You know what? I think we should change our layout today!" They have a very specific reason in mind (same thing with Facebook, and their reasons tend to follow new advertising models they are currently focusing on). Mobile is growing so fast and the old design didn't support that at all. The new design focuses on discovering older views from the channel (not just the latest ones). There are more vides on the screen at a time, etc...

YouTube's best interest is for you to succeed (so they can make money) and they're actually doing everything they can to help you.

To be fair, Zuckerberg's motto is "Move fast and break things." ;) I'm sure you've found yourself on the wrong side of their API once or twice :D
