The new channel blues

Having a gaming channel is VERY hard. Everyday people starting thousands of new gaming channels. Mostly gamers 'trust' only the wellknown gamers.
I'm also just started and my advice to you: post gameplay of new and popular games. You have only two video's on your gaming channel, but I think if you post a lot more, the views will also grow.

I use TubeBuddy for my tags. I don't know if you are already using it??

I don't use any type of exterior program to suggest me tags. And yes, I only got 2 videos at the moment. The first one is almost 2 years old! The second is just a test of the new setup, which it actually passed with flying colors IMHO. And yes, gameplay of new games would work the best, but since I am in it for fun I'll include mainstream games as well. Maybe some indie stuff. I hope to carve out my little nice like I have done with my automotive channel. I don't need it to become huge, just good enough where I get a decent amount of views and comments I can interact with. Right now that is missing, and that is the "new channel blues" right there!

It can be quite sobering. We started a 3rd channel (vlogs) and even with promoting it on our second channel, it has been an uphill battle. Only 1/4 of the way to getting the 4,000 hours view time at this point so monetization is still far away.

I think it will be easier for me to hit the hour requirement than the subscriber requirement if I am honest. We'll see what happens! I am sure you'll get to that point. I did some calculations based on people watching ~3 minutes per view.

4,000 hours = 240,000 minutes
240,000 / 3 = 80,000 views

For my automotive channel that about checks out. I hit the requirement for view time within 2 months. Right now the watch hours don't even register for the gaming channel because it is pretty much brand new. It took me 2 years to get my main to the suggested levels. I really wonder how this channel will trend.

I think a lot of people can relate to this post! It's also a bit of perspective, too. I remember feeling so nervous about posting a video -- I was scared of hate. But then once I posted it, I realized nobody watched! I was literally like "WOOHOO!!" and went on a posting rampage haha! xD Now, I think I'm more self-conscious about some of the videos I posted in the past than I was at the time that I posted them lol.

I'm a firm believer that there needs to be some other drive besides fame and fortune to help pull anyone through the NewTube Blues.
I was the same way in first started uploading videos I didn’t worry if it wasn’t good enough now I’m like eh I don’t know if my subscribers will like this.
