The easiest way to understand Youtube Search Ranking

Okay. So I know there is a thread stickied here about it. It's very well thought out and long. If you want the long and short proven of how to get on the front page of a search let me give you an Example. For my video "Night Trap". It's on the front of the search for the common search term "Night Trap Review"

Title: Night Trap Review | FMV Hell Episode 2 | Sega CD Game - Simple to the point. Clean, and says exactly what it is. It's a review of the game, from a series I make, and the console it's for. No transition words like And, A, none of that. Make it all keywords to EXACTLY what search you expect it to be found on.

The Description is very brief:
Johnny Fox Reviews Night Trap. It is a game released on the Sega CD, PC, 3DO and the Sega CD 32X. There was a movie released which is basically all the footage without the cutaways to the vampires. That's an episode in and of itself.

It outlines everything I need to say. The more text you have the less your rank will be.

Simple, Exactly what the video is. No extra BS just flat out this is what it is. Use only keywords that you think people will search for when looking for your video. As you see here in my tags.

Type in "Harvester PC Review" "Harvester PC Game" and "Harvester PC Gameplay" and you will see I am on the front page of all 3 pages now lol. Trial and error!

not true at all ^

- Description needs to be longer, some lines about gameplay and game setting/ genre/ playstyle etc
- You don't have enough tags, 15-20 is the right amount.
- They should be ordered in the way of importance.
- You should always put the same one tag in every video so you can dominate that search page and related videos, this is usually the name of your channel
- Game link should be in the description, searches for the game will bring up your video

There should always be a few of these but some of the ones you put in, you're going to amongst 1000s of pages unless you have alot of videos with consistent watch time with this same tag.
You want to put in tags and even make videos for to a point, niche wording of the game, things less people will search about. Not 2-3 but not millions either.

Also you have to remember that if after 48-72 hours your watch time is poor, you will lose search ranking pretty quickly as at this stage, 80% of the ranking is determined by watch time.
