The death of YouTube?

....I know a majority of you aren't really a fan of Onision...but I was watching WhatTheBuckShow...and Spricket..and they mentioned a video Onision did recently...about youtube dying...he may not be the nicest person...but the stuff he said in this video...I actually agreed with...and it worried me all at the same time... What are your thoughts on this...? <3

I agree with most of what he said eg: I keep being unsubscribed from channels and it makes me think I am kinda going nuts you know or maybe the person removed me cause they think I smell funny. On the other hand he made a few comments that kinda made me a bit worried about what is considered "hard work". A day making a video is nothing. There are a lot of movie makers etc who spend weeks making footage who were getting burried but their stuff was beyond awesome. So although at the moment google keeps breaking more then they fix regarding technical issues I dont see all of what they are doing as "bad". On the other hand they have made a huge effort to cater to large companies movies etc but well they also pay the bills because lets face it for exactly 0.00 i get to upload videos of any length as long as they are under 20 gigs 20 GIGS is a lot. They give this all to me for free. So its a double edged sword they need to bring in revenue and that is not just by monetizing videos made in a few hours that are good for a 2 second laugh. They are trying to keep people on their site longer then they used to. So that is the drive behind it. I think people would be less upset if youtube didn't keep getting broken as that is the cause of subscriber loss I would imagine is what he is saying. If you retain your subscriber base it should not be a harm. However I see the other side of youtube.. botting, fraudulent views etc to rip off the system. So part of what we are seeing is youtube trying to keep up to the "bad stuff". All I know is I enjoy youtube they give me all that space to host feature lenght movies and dont charge me a dime. Then again as I have said before I am not on youtube to make money. I think this is what is hurting youtube most. The "gold rush" which is occuring at the moment "if i make videos even if they suck i will make money from the ads". I have seen comments like that a lot around youtube even from time to time on these forums. So hopefully youtube wont break more then they fix. In the end though youtube was not making a lot of money in its past incarnation. So google is trying to make it more of a cash cow. I dont think youtube will go away though there is no other side like youtube around that gives away so much space. You may not get the views but in some cases the community is a lot larger then it used to be competition is more stiff so its like anything its no longer just a small community and it shows .

@urbanlamb Wow I love your response and I agree with you...I don't think that it's the death of YouTube...they are trying to help fix it even though some of the things they are fixing or shoving down our throats are not necessary. I don't think there will be any other site like Youtube so I don't think it is going anywhere...

I feel bad responding to your response with such a little response (lol i said response a lot)...but I basically agree with what you've said...Thank you for taking the time out to watch the video!
