Anyone notice some people have it some not? I wonder why. I thought it might be the partner thing but i checked one video of the person who didn't have the check but ads still showing. Weird?

The tick on YouTube means somebody has verified their account with their cellphone.
The tick on Twitter is over 1M followers I think.

Hope this helped.

is that one of the options that will show up once we get to 1k just like creating the custom url?
i never register it before, but as others told me before, you have to register to youtube if you reached 1k followers on google+

are applied to a YouTube channel's connected Google+ identity. This badges help to visually confirm the authenticity of a brand. When you find the badge on a channel for a popular celebrity or business, you can be sure that the channel actually belongs to them. The verification tick only appears to the right of the channel name, and "Verified" appears in a pop-up if you point your cursor at it.

These badges are applied with discretion to applicable official businesses, brands, organisations and public figures."

They are basically to verify that they are the official channel, so famous people such as PewDiePie have one and fake ones don't

Cool! I see a lot of people don't really know that though. Maybe ytb need to do a better job at letting people know.

It's not that you can't achieve it if you don't have millions of fans, have seen channels with 8k subs being verified..and anyway theere isnt a way to get that, google will do it when it feels it's necessary!
