Jump cuts are only useful if you make a consistent mistake on something you're rehearsing, or maybe some form of comedic visual gags. If you abuse the s**t out of jump cuts, you make a IRRITATING video, aka, Shane Dawson, who can't speak for more than two seconds without cutting to a new take. There's nothing interesting about that, it's retarded. It's not funny, not charming, just pure annoying incompetence.

Well I see other people's videos and think "Why the heck didn't he put a jumpcut there?!" I like jumpcuts since they kind of make the video and the commentary/discussion on a video seem interesting. gisikw's been doing that. Probably one of the many reasons why I subscribed.

In my videos I normally have transitions to get rid of all of the boring bits of footage but there is always that one point I dont notice until I have uploaded the video and I watch it back and think "i completely missed it D:"

Even worse when during recording I say "ill just cut this bit out" out loud and then forget to, so the uploaded video has me saying that in. It's horrible.

Then I have to decide whether I want to leave the mistake in or reupload the video with the changes made to it and spend tonnes of time resetting it.

I think I've caught them all when I edit, at least I have a pretty idea of where to jump cut while planning the video and writing out the script.

The only thing I look back on is how much I trim off the edges and think how I could've made the jump cut a little tighter or even overlap the audio so it feels tighter and less dead space.
