So recently my friends at school found out about my youtube channel and have been giving me some stick about it, i've been trying to keep them quiet but eventually the whole school will know. Should I just let them tell people because it will help me gain views and possible subscribers or do I tell them to stop or take down my channel completely so that they can stop taking the p**s out of me? and how many of you have told your friends about your youtube channel and how did they react?

Depends on your school and the people in it. What's the worst that could happen? If that is harassment or bullying, then be selective who you tell, but if there are generally good people just go for it!

That's the risk of YouTube. People you may know will end up stumbling upon it. It took me a while to tell my friends about my channel at first but I thought to myself "The worst thing they could do is not watch anything I make." I told them and yeah they did tell others. It sorta helps your channel out rather than hurt it.

GOOD OUT OF IT:
-More views
-More potential subs
-More channel activity and traffic (Usually real life friends will share videos to other real life friends.)

BAD OUT OF IT:
-If your friends are trolls
-Personal comments, might not be about the video all the time
-Possible teasing and video criticisms

You can choose. There's no actual harm really in it.

Pick better friends. You know, nice decent people who don't insult you for having a hobby that they don't share. If you can't tell your friends what you do on YouTube without them giving you a hard time over it, they're not worth associating with. You'll learn that lesson by the time you have finished High School and realize nothing before High School matters, but if you can learn it a little earlier that's fine too.

If you tell them to stop, they will only bug you more. When people see it doesn't bug you, it's no longer fun for them so they'll probably stop. I show my videos to everybody including friends, family, co-workers, etc. What is the point of making videos? To be seen, right? The whole reason I started my channel is to show people I know my videos without having to send them huge files via email. I never really expected to get random viewers back when I started.

When my classmates found about about it they just laughed and found it original. The only thing they nake is some jokes on it every now and then. Since I do not get offended they do not insist on it too much.

Back in secondary school in earlier years (7 & 8 which is about the ages of 12 -13) I made really crappy now deemed cringe worthy material.

When I shared it with them they laughed made fun of me and I got offended and they persisted, Also one of them wasn't too nice as he had one video with Tomska in it (that video has 16,000 views) so when me and my friend created this channel I didn't tell anyone because I was always scared of horrendous backlash, but when I entered sixth form one of my friends who came along with me from secondary mentioned it.

I was really anxy as I thought I get the same horrible backlash, however they watched some of the videos said it was cool and just left it there, so I'm glad that happened :)

They sometimes reference one of the videos where I say Yoloswag for a little skit which I find funny XD

If they are real friends I'd imagine they would support you
Abit of joking around should be expected though :D
Hope everything goes well for you

Don't delete your channel for the sake of other peoples personal views
Do what makes you happy :)

If your worried I'd say the best thing to do and it may be hard but
Walk tall
Be proud and maybe even join in on the jokes
If they do give legit hate look past it

It really depends of the type of friends you have and how your school is in general. For me at college has been helpful :) People really help me around promoting and others I can see the envy on them and stuff but I just ignore them. Others have asked me to play with them which is typical so yeah I have gain around 20 subs from my college :)
