Target a Younger Audience?

Maybe it's just me but I feel like the more I look around YouTube, bigger channels either started out focusing on younger audiences or still do. I know it's hard to gauge big channels because a lot of variables, but I notice this across the board it seems like if you make videos that appeal to younger audiences get WAY more views and subscribers.

Case Study: Logan & Jake Paul. I know they are carrying fame over from Vine + Facebook + Disney stuff. However, if you've ever watched their content, they are CONSTANTLY lying to their audience or playing a role. Videos saying they are "color blind" then poorly acting like they're color blind the entire video while wearing glasses to "let them see colors." This just bugs me that they are purposely manipulating their audience.

I see the business side of it as a smart way to make money and increase your views...because it obviously works. But something about "faking" videos or storylines to target very young fans rubs me the wrong way. Their content, jokes, stories, skits are SO cringey to me as a mid-20s person. If you've ever seen those "Instagram comedians" I feel the same way about those sketches.

Anyways, does anyone see the point I am making or feel the same way?

Since the ads has shifted to a more advertiser friendly content, the creators are forced to change their content to still have the ads and earn money!
Which is sad, because it makes them less creative, and are less likely to do what they want!
