T-Shirts and Bracelets!

Swiggity Swooty Comin' For The Booty!
I'm thinking about making myself a shirt with my channel name and some artwork on it. Also, I might make bracelets with my channel name and some design on them and give them out for free. Would this be a good idea to get the word out about my channel in my town or is this a bad idea? I don't wanna look like a fool or that I'm trying to hard .-.

It you can, why not?
Sounds like a good way to advertise yourself anyways.
I would say, go for it. Can't really hurt, unless you become embarrassed wearing your own shirt. XD

I've made a shirt with my channel name and url on it. Wore it to my college a few times, and my professor even noticed it and started talking to me about YouTube haha. The very first day I got it, I wore it to Fred Myers and the person working there asked if I was a YouTuber. Don't know if it helped bring any traffic to my videos though.

So yes, it's a good idea, though don't get your hopes up if it doesn't work that well.

It is definitely fun to build your own merch. I used to do it and am working on relaunching some shirts here soon. However handing it out for free might be a little much for just starting out.
If you can afford it it might not be bad. But if not it might not help as much as your wallet needs it to. Although it does not cost much to buy them shipping typically takes the cake and makes it more than I want to spend for free hand outs.

But if you want to buy it for yourself. I think that's a lot of fun and gives you a sense of professionalism.

In my opinion, bracelets would not be a cost effective strategy. As Kevin shared, having a T-Shirt made for yourself is a good idea.

I would do the shirt for yourself to wear in your videos and when out and about but I wouldnt buy a stock of them to give to people for free unless you really have lots of cash to spare and potentially waste. I would also leave advertising your merch store until your channel is much bigger, it can quite hard to sell shirts as most people want them for free or as part of giveaways.

I'm doing business cards and plan to get a shirt as well.

I go to meet-ups for my niche that I cover on my channel, so I find people who are interested in the videos I make (though they aren't tubers or anything usually), and then pass out business cards. Adding a unique t-shirt should help me get found at the meet-ups :)

Hey,
It's a cool idea and everything but please change your name. I really don't want to sound like a ***** but I feel like it is better to be honest then just let you get bigger and get a bunch of hate. Your name is extremely similar to Pewdiepie and it sounds pretty much the same when you say it. You don't want to do that, especially when it comes to really big youtubers such as that. Trust me from my 5 years of experience on Youtube you will recieve a bunch of hate just for your name.

In my opinion its fun and all to get your own line of clothing/merchandise I mean dont get me wrong but I can only ever really see it working if you have a semi large fan base maybe touching in the 100K region to make it profitable or to have a real impact, with 50K yeah maybe you could try but iv seen channels with 300K without any merch whatsoever.

All in all it might be better to hold off till you build up a solid foundation of subscribers but if you feel it can benefit you the same way I say go for it!!
