Swearing on youtube

I swear but I reserve mainly for my live commentaries as people find my rage to pretty funny.

I'd love to do an English vocabulary lesson about "English swear words" and just let rip for 20 minutes


Watching other people's videos, swearing doesn't bother me, and it can be funny sometimes, but can get annoying if it's OTT.

Beeping in some sentences/situations have a comedic effect.

I completely agree! I always find a well placed beep funny. Just like an unnecessary blur like Jimmy Kimmel does on his show.

I swear waaay too much but mostly when I'm really frustrated, I try not to swear a lot knowing that a lot of my viewers are quite young.

Is swear here and there. I try not to too much tho, I find it annoying when youtubers only ever swear. Like I like jenna marbles but if I watch too many of her videos the swearing gets agitating.

Depending on the person really.

everyone swears.
just some individuals don't like the fact they swpre in public even though it's their own home they're swearing in.
so they basically beep out their bad language.

others have a young fan base and don't want to influence them to swear...

I just swear in my videos...
in my opinion it's a word that has no actual harm. just people are too easily offended by the skepticalism of today.

I dont really swear since I have noneed to in my style of videos - but when Im watching someone else and they swear I find it really funny! Not a bad thing at all, as long as its not excessive!

As far as I can, I aim to not do swearing in my videos as I like to try and keep it somewhat family. That said, beeps in videos can be used to great effect from a comedy standpoint - though they are just not for me.

I choose not to swear..and I think the key word here is..choose! I want everyone to enjoy my series..from 2 to 82 years of age. I find that it does not take away from my series nor enhance it in any way. With that said, I do tend to skip or stop watching a video if their is too much foul language. Hannah of the Yogscast is a good example..her early works have very little to none in the way of foul language..then later on..it was every other word..so hard to tell which was the real Hannah. I prefer the cleaner version..but meh. Just my humble opinion.

Ive never sworn once in my life, its pathetic, anyone who swears should be ashamed of themselves.

I try to not swear in my videos because I want to present myself well and not to look like someone who doesn't care about the viewers.
