Nearly all of that stuff is primarily made for scientific/military purposes, so prices usually stay very high. The Phantom is one of the only dedicated high speed cameras around. They start at the same price as a new car and go up from there. There's no on board audio, so you have to sync in post.
There's a few lower priced cinema cameras that can do high speed. The Sony FS-700 can do 1080p at 240fps and 480p/960p at lower resolutions. The Red Epic tops out at 120fps in 4k and 96fps in 5k.
Keep in mind that at high speeds, you can't shoot like you would with a normal camera. A Phantom Miro shooting at 1000fps in 1080p will only capture 4 seconds of footage before having to dump the buffer to a drive. Double that to 2000fps and you're only getting 2 seconds at a time.
