Summertime Stat Increase?

I've heard a few times that the summer is where your views and subscriber counts tend to go up more then any other time in the year. Is that true? Is it because all the kids are out of school and watching more YouTube videos instead?
 
Probably. I mean I can actually pull all-nighters while watching youtube videos in the summer...although that's a pretty bad idea cause you get all sleepy and you get in a fight with your friends for ignoring their facebook messages by accident because I was tired as hell.
 
It depends on your audience demographics. If the majority of your viewers are over 30, it's unlikely you'll see any meaningful increase. If your primary demographic is young and in school, you should be able to increase your monthly view count with a little bit of extra work.

It's quite amusing reading the answers to your question because last year when someone asked if summer/school being out was a reason for their views going down and nearly everyone on this forum said yes.
 
You could look at it the other way being that if you upload when there isn't a holiday, there's less school kid competition so your video will be higher and you may get more views that way, because nearly every 'kid' wants to be YouTube famous, I mean I'm 15 and I'm still trying to get a piece of this action! :P

Haha I was just talking to my Wife about this last night. I am hoping that we started at a good time...Start gaining a "fan" base before Summer hits!! I agree with this only because Families in general have more free time in the Summer and things are moving faster on YouTube!!
