Sudden Increase in "terrible audio" comments on one vid

Hey, I hope this is the right category for this kind of question. but something has been bothering me lately.

So I have this old 2013 viral video that had some classic royalty free music in.
and for some reason for the last 2 months only, I've gotten an influx of "this is horrible audio" comments on it.
I understand the quality is not the best, but its an old video and nobody has ever commented that before, why all of a sudden now? has the quality dropped more somehow?
I watch it myself and it seems normal to me, but im not sure.


It's certainly not great quality mind you, im more wondering why its being noticed now. maybe all these 4k videos are showing it up more haha

I could reupload it, but that would just be a waste of it's views. does youtube allow you to resubmit your audio?

The sound quality is fine. I mean it's only music, no dialogue and you can hear it fine (the levels are fine) so not sure what they're moaning about tbh. Perhaps, they've just watched this just after one of your recent videos and there's a big difference?

I don't have a "musical ear", so not sure of how to describe it, but maybe the sound is a bit "flat", like a bit "muffled" I suppose I mean. But honestly, that's only because I'm really concentrating on it. If you hadn't mentioned those comments, and I had watched the vid, I wouldn't have noticed a problem. People are like sheep - they see a criticism, then jump all over it.

Its deffinetly there, you can hear the "old flash games quality sound" that being said, i dont really see the reason to complain, its not that bad, like at all.
Like the guy above said, maybe they just went from one of your recent vids, and the difference of improvement is that great

yeah this is due to me exporting it straight from flash and not understanding how to change the publush settings to high quality audio, i do it all post now anyways, but its a shame youtube doesn't allow you to re-do the audio.

yeah funny thing is i posted it on newgrounds way back when too XD
as long as it's not a total ear killer, then im not too worried, but i guess people don't take notice of the upload date when commenting on old videos sometimes.

I hope it is from my newer vids, because that's sort of a good thing if they have improved that much

The audio seems to be mono and of decent quality, i think people are just spoiled now with how rich music can be. I think the video is good but a little dated with the music and animation. Over all i don't think it's as horrible as the comments you are getting say it is. Not quite sure why you are getting such comments now, maybe it's just a sign of the times.

yeah it's definitely quite an old vid! Im glad you dont see anything majorly worrying, your probably right that times have just changed so much. new youtubers will be expected to have perfect audio and visual quality these days which is going to be tough on a lot of people

Anyway, the best I can think is that Pokemon has gone through a pretty big surge in popularity, with Pokemon GO released this summer and Sun and Moon following this fall. I have a terrible ear for this kind of thing, but maybe the audio has been pretty bad compared to your usual stuff or the industry standard, but increased exposure to audiences has merely increased the amount of people who have noticed.

possible, i did get a boost the last couple months, so its probably new people that haven't thought about the upload date. but hey, i certainly can't grumble at the views, this was one of the main videos that really got my channel going, and its such a silly video XD
