Successful Collab?

Triple Res

Hey! So my question to you guys is how many of you have actually been able to setup a successful collab? I have tried many times and something always seems to stop the process. Its supposed to be one of the best ways to grow your channel but I have been unable to tap into it. Is it just me? lol

No it’s not just you, I’ve planned to collab with others and they end up not following through or reply back. I collabed with one person and I had to keep bagging them to get their video edited in time, they didn’t take their channel seriously and getting them to finish their video in time was like pulling teeth. I won’t collab with people now until I get to know them better and they have similar sub count and content because I don’t want to be used and I had many YouTubers with no subscribers and barely any videos try to collab.

Collabs are hard because you often have to work around two people's schedules. That is the reason why I have only done a couple with a friend of mine, both being car reviews. I enjoyed the heck out of them, and hope to do more in the future.

I wish we could have a collab rating system lol. Like we could leave reviews for people we have collabed or attempted to collab with so other people could see if they are wasting there time or not.

I did a collaboration yesterday. It was on a whim honestly. I met someone on another forum who posted a SoundCloud track he created and I mentioned how nice the Downtempo music was and that I would like music like that for my time-lapse videos. He responded and even emailed me a file of the song and let me use it on my most recent LEGO build video.

It also gave me a chance to get familiar with giving credit to creators and how to incorporate it into other videos and such. It was a cool experience. I think it adds a lot of heft to the video and shows viewers that you're working hard to give them quality content.
