I have the auto captioning on mine, I don't type up all my videos so I don't, nor can I say people have requested it.

2 of my videos have subtitles, yup it helped me reach into greater audience

It helps because my english is not cool and many could not understand me xD
And then... my italian subs and friends (and parents) wouldn't understand a word xD

This way.. I can be international and not only local, that is a cool thing if You are a little boot on the world xD

And then... rumors say that captions are indexed by google

You seemed to have made two threads, I merged them together for you My husband is deaf, and having subtitles on videos is amazing for him. Not many have them. So yes, it could be a good idea.

I noticed that it would be a good idea to fix automatic English subtitles added by Youtube to my videos because they are pure gibberish. Probably because my spelling is bad
