Hi :)

I checked out 2 videos:

1)InYourFaceHorror : Episode 17 : You're Next
2)InYourFaceHorror : Episode 16 : Mirrors

I think the actual content (the movie reviews with the comedy aspect) was pretty good

A few comments about the marketing side:

1)Your intro is pretty long on the 2 videos - about 30 seconds - That's a long long time in YT terms and if someone just lands on one of those videos, I'm not convinced they're going to wait it out. I was getting pretty impatient! How long is your viewer retention in analytics?

2)The video titles are not at all optimized for YT search. No-one will be searching for your channel name and if they did, you do not need it in your titles for your videos to appear. Search for my channel name and you'll see what I mean ;) If you want to get your name out there, then say it in your intro and outro and in your description, but remove from titles. Likewise for episode numbers. They are taking up valuable space that can be used for keywords. No-one is searching for episode numbers. Put your videos in a playlist if necessary and put the episode number in a custom thumbnail. So basically your videos are optimized for "you're next" and "mirrors". That is is pretty vague and could be anything (car mirrors, makeup mirrors...) - not just the movie. Do a search for it and you'll see "you're next" returns 23 million results!! You need to have titles like:

You're next movie review | Horror movie review

and then in the description, lace it with a brief summary of what your vid is about without spoilers obv but seeded with those same keywords that are in the title, but make it sound natural and don't go overboard.

Basically do some research on SEO (search engine optimization) for YT and follow the advice you find.

3)Custom thumbnails - Learn how to do custom thumbs that jump out of the page. The goal is to get yours noticed before the one above you in the search results. Big bright text that contains the vid title and more importantly makes it clear what the vid is about and . That way viewer retention will be longer.

4) I wasn't too keen on your trailer :( Sorry, because I can see a lot of work and editing went into it, but it doesn't seem to go with the theme of horror movies. You seem to be in a well-lit office ?! Maybe something spooky with spooky music, costumes etc would be better?

hth

1) I fixed that in the newer episodes :) We started getting bored with the intro too haha

2) I also just fixed this problem, though I need to go back, you're right, having the episode in there isn't very important either. I never really knew how to optimize appropriately, but thank you. I will definitely do some research.

3) Thumbnails are important, and I'm glad you said something ha I just fixed those too, but now that I'm looking at them again, they could definitely use more to make it pop :)

4) That's totally okay. I've been trying to figure out how to make things a little more interesting, but visualization is key for making things wonderful. We are going to shoot a new intro soon, just have to find time :)

Thank you for all of your input. How did you feel about the general appearance of the channel when you first got to the page?

No problem.

The channel itself looks good, the banner and logo are great and the reviews themselves are pretty good. Good luck!

I got more tips to add. I've seen a few of your videos and they are good.

Comment on other videos within your Horror genre on Youtube. People will notice your comment and might check out your channel.

Leave an annotation to Subscribe at the beginning of your video. If a viewer likes your content, they will subscribe to you.

Another tip is to share your videos on horror related forums and groups on social media. Reddit is a great place to share your videos. Just watch out for the criticism, as Reddit has highly critical posters.

Well, this is what I got from a few of your videos... I feel like you guys are acting way too much, if that makes sense. I think you should change your overall approach if the over-the-top" acting thing is what you want to go for. Like, pick either more comedy or more review, but not both at the same level.

Also, you shouldn't monetize your videos when you are such a small channel. It discourages new audiences to come and watch your videos when they have to sit through a 30-second ad video or a 5-second skippable ad video.
