Subscribers who immediately unsubscribe?

So my channel is a sub-100 subscriber channel, as it's fairly new. As such, my subscriber base is easier to monitor, and its much easier to notice when I get new subscribers or unsubscribers.

I've noticed a repeated pattern of people subscribing, and then hours later unsubscribing. What's going on there? Is it a case of sub4sub people hoping I subscribe them back (in which case I'm happy for them to disappear)? Anyone else notice this strange pattern?
 
Subscribers are a funny thing. I'm always very grateful for those who like my channel enough to subscribe, but until they comment on videos, I don't even check out the list to be honest. Really odd to think it will prompt people to immediately subscribe back!

I'd say that they're attempting for sub4sub. It's one of the only mechanisms that they know to do. I don't care for it too much myself.

You can block people from subscribing to you. Someone actually did it to me on my old channel (which is how I knew that it was possible) and I've blocked people from subscribing to me as well. You can learn more about how to do that here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/56113?hl=en.
 
Definitely people hoping you'd sub back. I swear man, those people are like the most annoying people. Always in it for themselves and not caring about anything else.

It happens on Twitter too. >_> People following you hoping you follow back. It ticks me off.
 
Yeah that's happened to me a couple of times too. It's just people subbing so you check out their channel... and if you don't/don't sub they un-sub :S
 
Yeah, I had this happen to me before. They just want you to sub back to them, and when you don't, they just unsub. It's totally annoying but it happens and ya just gotta ignore it:spin:
