Subscriber Growth chart/graph??!?

I've Got It
To get big on youtube, you first have to get that ball rolling. "Snowball effect"

This basically means, you have to get a decent amount of subscribers for your content and videos to gain you subs on their own...

Putting it in other words, i may get 0-1 subscribers per day... but if i was at 1000 subscribers total... i may get 5-10 subscribers per day or even more because i already have that original collection of subscribers which will draw attention from other possible subscribers... whereas if i had 100 subs the possible attention i could get is dramatically lower.

Im just wondering if there is a chart or graph which shows the average growth of a youtuber once you get that ball rolling and the subscribers start coming in on a daily basis...

and also, what do you guys think is the average amount of subscribers for the ball to start rolling? 500 subs? 1k?

just having a thought i guess, and looking for answers :)

I am somewhat curious about that effect as well! It makes sense the more subs you have the more word of mouth and the more you videos are shared. I thought I had read somewhere it was 300 subs to start the effect..but I may be WAY off on that..I hope not as I am slowly reaching that 300 mark..281! Woot!:joyful2:

I don't think there's a chart that shows it, but what you can do, is go to Social Blade and look at the biggest YouTubers and see how their "snowball" rolled and compare the metrics. I'm interested in the result, but waaaay to lazy to check it out myself because I got some videos to get done ;-)

You and me both sir! LOL! I have 14 episodes waiting in the wings..sigh..That is a months worth of shows for the channel! LOL:facepalm2:

There are no hard and fast rules and it is very dependent on what niche you're in and what type of videos you make.

For me, I found a boost after I reached 300 subs, I actually started getting somewhere.

At 1000 subs things started to pick up and I started to gain traction.

I'm at 5000 subs now and I seem to have reached another gradient change of organic growth where reliable likes comments and views on each new video contribute to more new people seeing my videos and increasing my growth further.

Great to hear! Come on 300! LOL! Thanks for the info! Congrats on the subs btw! That is great to hear!:woot2:

You might not be able to see it perfectly but you should be able to recognise the little humps and gradient changes around 300, 1000 and 4000 subs:

There isn't a number, it is just more is more.... The bigger you get, the easier it is to gain subs.
To me, it was painful to get to 50 subs. It was soo hard to get to 150.
Then once I finally hit 500, figured out some SEO, and had some help, I have reached 1650 from 500 (1150 subs) in one month.
Look at your % gained, that is a good way to judge yourself. If you have 5o subs and gain 3 in a day, maybe thats a good day (6%). If you have 1000 and gain 5 (.5%), that is not such a good day. find your good days and bad days this way, and learn to keep improving and try to keep your percentage up. If you can keep 3-10% a day, you will start growing in no time. A lot of this has to do with content.
