I generally care more about viewer interaction than views, or subscribers. One piece of good feedback outweighs 100 views for me. For all you know most of those views were people scanning for 20 seconds.
I think the real key is the watch time and not the views. If someone clicks on your video does not mean that he/she stayed there for more than 1-2 seconds. I'm really sure we post our videos to YouTube because we would like to share our ideas, enjoyments, works etc. Subscribers are the best source for watch time and views too. So I would say subs before views.
