Subreddits for YouTube posts

That's helpful for my channel. I can't be as specific as Furry Gurus, but I have good results usually on animalsbeingderps and animalsbeingbros. Another subreddit is awww (it has 3 w's)

For short videos (30 seconds or less) try youtubehaiku. It's a weird subreddit, but I had a video of a dog knocking into me get about 6,000 views.[DOUBLEPOST=1452913963,1452912453][/DOUBLEPOST]

I asked permission to post in DIY and this is what they said "Please read our Guidleines. Unless you made the dog yourself, it's not appropriate here."

The snark is funny, but not very courteous to my nicely worded request which had all the appropriate "manner words."
I'll give those a shot!
And the diy remark was funny though :p with me they just replied "approved"

I'd be honest here, Reddit's a tough nut to crack. They loathe self-advertising yet shamelessly promote already popular YouTube channels, regurgitated memes and GIFs.

Unless you're doing an AMA or have contributed greatly to subreddit(s), don't expect to go far. And not to mention shadowbanning strikes the moment you violate the 9:1 self-advertising rule; promote 9 non-self links, 1 for yourself.

Even if you're new and you've a great content, chances are your thread would get downvoted because you're a nobody. I've experienced that myself and although some would be lucky, the rest are just sidelined.

I agree. However, it does seem like the animal channels have an easier time with nicer viewers and a ton of subreddits from which to choose. The few times I've posted a video from someone else on a non-animal topic, that's when I got down voted big time. I try to follow the 9:1 rule with making lots of comments and I rarely post any other videos. I have gone on IMGUR and posted pictures from there that I like.

That's dangerous. While I do agree not all subs are plain strict, it still feels you're walking on eggshells. :P

I'm not sure if the 9:1 applies to comments (9 comments, 1 self-promo URL) or URLs (9 external URLs, 1 self-promo URL)
