Stuck at 301 views

I Love YTtalk
I'm confused why I have a video stuck at 301 views. It's not like the super popular ones that get stuck like that for a few hours. And it's been days, maybe over a week even. When I look at my analytics it says only 228 lifetime views. What the heck? Is something broken?

Your view count gets audited at 301 views. Meaning that it will take all the "fake" views away. So if you've viewed it a few times it's going to take those views away. And I'm not sure how many seconds constitutes a "view" for YouTube, but if it's your channel trailer or something then people can quickly click on another video before the it starts to play or it could only be played for a few seconds. Once the real view count exceeds 301 views, it will update itself. Until then, you'll be stuck at 301.

I know the feeling, I've had a video that has been at 301+ for 4 months now, I think they've just given up on it, cause more comments have appeared in that time, so people have watched!

Usually takes an hour to 4 hours to update for me, once it goes over 301 it usually takes quicker to verify.

When a video reaches 301+ views, YouTube audits the views, and deducts any that they don't consider "real" views. The video will be stuck at 301+ until it has reached 301+ real views. When you look at your analytics, it shows the real number of views, in this case 228.

When I say "real" views, I don't mean that you, or anyone else botted your views. There are things that YouTube doesn't count as a view. They are not fully open with what exactly they consider a view, but they deduct things like: Views from your own IP address, views that were very short (Like someone loaded the page and refreshed or left), etc.

Basically anyone who doesn't get a lot of traffic will get their videos stuck at 301 for some time. I have a few videos that have been stuck at 301+ for a few months now. They don't get many (if any) views anymore, so the "real" number of views raises very, very slowly.
