Streaming on YouTube?

ChunkeyPanda

I play video entertainment thats interactive.
So I know when YouTube allowed channels to do live streams there was a lot of delay, and it just wasn't as good as twitch. Was wondering if it has improved at all since then?

Also was wondering if it would be better/worse to stream on YouTube rather than Twitch or another streaming site, as I have had little to no success streaming on twitch, I'll be lucky to get even 1 viewer, which I did like once, but I was afk in the bathroom and when I got back he left

The delay kills YouTube, period. I am new to it, but even with 2x better video quality on YouTube, that delay defeats the live streams purpose. I also have a 10th of the traffic on twitch, so it's like starting all over again. That actually is a good feeling, but in other ways, it would be nice to have the option to adjust that setting to under 1 minute since twitch has a 15 second delay. The goal of a stream in most cases is to interact with the viewers, and it's why they are watching twitch and not tv. YouTube gets rid of that delay and it's on, but at least for now I can use each for different video types and stream straight from my Android to those sites easily.

We're doing a stand up comedy show at this theater next Friday and we were considering live streaming it.
Would also like to get more info on this.

Lags and delays and stuff may screw up a stand up show.
