Hey, so i just started out on youtube, made two videos :) And i really just wanted some advice on what you guys may have done initially to get some growth/subs/views?
Thanks! Any advice would be much appreciated! :D

Just moving this to the Strategies & Technique Advice section of the forum. Actually I'm really not sure what I did to get my 440 subscribers lol......I mean mainly I watch a lot of Youtube, and anyone I was subbed to I always comment/interact with them on their videos and watch their videos. I'm guessing they would check out my channel sometimes.

Youtube really is kind of a "figure it out as you go" and "figure out what works for you" kind of place. There is so much good info on these boards - I just recommend reading as much as you can and picking and choosing the ideas that make sense to you!

I used to get a lot of channel views by adding people as friend in 2010. I still do that and I get a few visitors now that view my channel trailer and subscribe. I don't know if they will watch future uploads, but I'm glad they subbed and saw my channel trailer.

I also got subscribers from being boxed, but YouTube stopped asking if you want to subscribe to the people in the other channels box.

Go to the tutorial forum, there's quite a few guides such as "road to your first upload" and others. Check them out.

For me I simply got lucky to start posting in a new market with no competition for a few months. YouTube is the ultimate niche market, so finding an untapped niche to post content on will inevitably increase your views and growth of them. As for subs, as @derraleves mentioned, "Branding and optimizing your channel" in the beginning.

It's not easy to figure out exactly how to create that brand people will like enough to follow your channel, but keep it in mind since it will play a large roll in the speed of your channel's growth.

Most importantly, have fun :D

Just being professional with your work and providing the highest quality content you can give. Interacting is a big part, talking to different people, talking to your subs and viewers, interacting with them through your video. Ask a few friends to share your videos or a few of your e-friends. Have a sense of humour, always be positive.

If you can do all that hell I'd subscribe to you!
