Starting a new channel

Make compelling interesting videos. Use multiple people in your video. Have fun and if your personable your personality will shine through. Viewers want to see people, remember this is YouTube.
I've heard collabs are not good when you are first starting out, because even if those people drive more views and subscribers, when you stop doing collabs, people will get angry. It happened to a girl -- she was doing all these collabs and then she wanted to redesign her channel and people where like wtf?

I didn't mean to do collaborations with other youtubers as a way of promoting I mean use multiple people as in friends, cool siblings, etc. Viewers want to see onscreen interactions and personality and not just information even if it is very informative.

Yeah, I think having guests on your channel with you is nice, whether they be other tubers for a collab or just friends and family. It really helps bring out your authentic self, and that's what viewers want to see. Also, there will probably be less time spent in editing, since there's not as much of an expectation for you to say everything smoothly. :)

Oh, I see. And I didn't mean that collating is a bad thing, but if you brand yourself as a collab-er and then stop collating for whatever reason, it will confuse your audience. However, I like the idea of inviting family /friends into your channel. :)
