Spanking your kids?

And what I mean is that: you learn to read dont you?
I dont mean complicated studies and scientific stuff necessarly.
Like going to school, learning how to count, how to read, how to teach other people stuff, that is important.

And for me in particular, University is important. But thats just me.

Yeah true it can't be taken away from you but you can be deprived of it. University should be important, it should be so important that our societies shouldn't allow it to be impossible for anyone to attend. Yet it does and it will continue to do so until such time as civilization crumbles.

Old times where we grew our own foods and where self sufficient where (for a human being and the earth) much better. If we stayed in them lifestyles we wouldn't have progress in the ways that we have, but we also wouldn't have the majority of problems we currently have.
 
My mom raised my 2 brothers and i by herself. We grew up sometimes in bad areas since we were poor. But none of us ended up doing drugs being thugs etc. she hit us when we were bad and from a young age we learned if i dont miss up i dont get hit. I am not saying im going to beat my kids but i will spank them. I see all these damn kids that do w/e they want because all they get is getting grounded(in a room full of toys) or getting their games taken away. My old friend thats what his parents did. Lets just say he didnt end up to well.

Everyone is going to act differently when they are spanked. I know I was spanked one time when I was 9 years old, because I did something bad. I still remember it very clearly. I still did bad things after that. But this is not to say that Camille is wrong either! I have 3 kids 7, 4 and almost 3. I do not believe in spanking them. I simply send them to their rooms, and take things away from them (such as their DS, or favorite toys) and give them back when they have earned it. My kids are fairly well behaved (they have their moments.)

I'm not sure why you are knocking studies lol.
Education is also very important in today's society, in regards to getting not just a job, but a career.
Anyways...how about we stop the arguing? Everyone is going to have a different opinion on things. There is no need to squabble.

I agree. Its not even about spanking anymore.

Needless to say: Im against spanking and I support education.
Now if you disagree its your thing. But that aint gonna make me change my mind.

Last thing I would say...
Of course there are WAYS how to use verbal discipline. My parents used that and they didnt send me in a room full of toys when they punished me. They took away my computer, my TV time, I couldnt see my friends. STUFF like that.
 
Some of the greatest scientific discoveries are just that, Discoveries. They didn't come from just learning things, they came from actually trying new things. I think the most important things to just teach anyone is to go out there and just try things. Don't listen to what will and wont work find it out for yourself.
As i never could go to Uni i don't know if they actually encourage students to test and push boundaries and actually think irrationally sometimes. I hope they do[DOUBLEPOST=1369856641,1369856555][/DOUBLEPOST]Anyone else think we should have made a podcast about this ? XD

Yup indeed, discoveries. But those discoveries are made by those who already got the knowledge, the basics I mean, to be able to discovers those new things.

Give the same tools that they use to someone who never heard of the specific subject and you wont get anywhere.

They had to study the thing before making discoveries.

Not trying to be nasty now, but I can discover things, and I do everyday, no they aren't scientifically proven, but they are still discovers
