Sound only coming out of left side?

There are all of these buttons for the audio on my camera (its a super big confusing camera my dad bought a long time ago that i've been borrowing) i'm not even sure if this has anything to do with it but does anyone know if these buttons are important for the audio?

Oh goodness. Those cameras are always fun. Try switching the CH Select to Channel 1-2 instead of just Channel 2. Idk what mic set up you are currently using so it could be as simple as that to fix the issue. Do a test record on Channel 1-2 and let me know if it goes to both speakers or not!

Ok that's why you're getting one channel of audio. We have the same problem with recording our audio to our Zoom H4n. The only way to solve that without editing the audio in post is to get something like an XLR splitter cable and connect it to both input ports. Therefore it will record two channels instead of one. That would work...assuming your mic connects using an XLR cable.

Hopefully I'm making sense :p
Ahhh so many words and cables! I think what i'm going to do is try to duplicate the audio in garageband. I'm pretty good with the garageband controls so we'll see how that goes i guess :)[DOUBLEPOST=1372265278,1372265179][/DOUBLEPOST]

Wow i didn't even see that button saying channel 1-2! I'm going to do a test right now :)

Definitely try changing that setting on your camera first, and if that doesn't do it then yeah the garageband solution would be simpler. :)

Good luck! I think it'll fix your problem unless you aren't using the stock mic anymore... but it looks like you are.

photo-3.JPG Alright so i've discovered that by flipping the channel switch to 1-2 instead of 2, it doesnt record audio at all. Just kind of a fuzzy feedback noise. But i found these buttons behind the camera that look pretty important
And they have been positioned like this when i've been recording all of my videos before but maybe if i increase ch 2 or something. I think i'll try that next and if it doesnt work i'll move on to trying to duplicate sound with garageband!

No those are fine don't change those. That is for when you start putting extra mics into the camera. Can you also take a picture of the full camera and the spot where the mic plugs in please? Thank you =)

Those look to be more like mice levels, so I don't think increasing those will help if it's not recording anything at all. :O_o2:

hmm. It appears that everything is set up correctly. It may just be that that mic only records to one channel. It looks like you may have to just do a bit of editing in post to fix it =X Either that or get a dual channeled mic to use.
