Sony vegas vs premiere pro?

Vegas and Premiere are basically the same. Sure the keys and menus are different, but overall the usage is exactly the same. If you thought Vegas looked complicated, well, it's likely you'll think the same of Premiere... These programs are designed to far exceed the capabilities of Movie Maker, but come with that added layer of complexity to achieve that.

Bottom line is, spend enough time in either program and it'll become second nature pretty quickly. There's nothing that's actually intellectually complex about video editing.

I just love Premiere Pro. For simple editing, the learning curve is quick. For more complex stuff, there are plenty of tutorials--on Adobe's site and YouTube. Also, if you are used to how other Adobe products work, you already speak some of the language. For example, Premiere uses a variation on layers.

When I started my YouTube channel I first used Sony Vegas. It's pretty easy to use and you can also use it for more professional stuff.

But I changed to Premiere Pro. In my opinion, it's a lot better. It might seem complicated at first, but you'll get to learn to use and love it haha! It'll take a while but if you're a YouTuber who uploads a video at least every week then you'll use the program a lot. You'll always find new ways to use the program and how to edit your videos even better

Also a little reminder: Professional editors, who work on Hollywood movies, use a lot of Adobe products. That means also Premiere Pro. So if you are able to use this one you can do a lot (Of course those editors will use a lot more different programs but Premiere is certainly one of those )

Premiere is a better software than Sony Vegas. Vegas has had multiple new versions since I last used it (Pro 11) but it's still the same really. I would class Vegas as the Final Cut Pro of Windows PC's. It's great, but professionals are moving away from them and changing to Premiere and Avid.

If you have the whole Adobe Suite don't go out and get Vegas. Premiere works hand in hand with all the other Adobe software, you'll have great control over graphics and such because you can design the Vector in Illustrator, create the idea use Photoshop, then just import the Photoshop file into Premiere. Then if you ever want to edit the photo you just have to edit the Photoshop file and don't need to worry about re-importing it into your video.

It will look confusing at the start, but watch a few youtube tutorials or sign up to the Adobe Magazine and you'll soon understand a hell of a lot about it. To do a basic edit you will probably only need to watch a 10 minute tutorial on youtube. Then if you want to do anything more advanced.. just jump onto youtube and search for what you're trying to do. Someone, somewhere will have made a video tutorial on it.

Actually most Hollywood film editors use Avid. TV programmes are the main use of Premiere and Final Cut Pro 7.

It doesn't matter which program is better. What matters is what YOU want from it. Do you want fast and easy editing while still doing really advanced stuff that looks really good? Or do you want expert professional editor capabilities but with a higher learning curve? Or do you not want to spend more money since you already have Premiere?

I've used both Vegas and Premiere, for years. And I prefer Vegas due to what I do with it, which is Youtube videos. It is just easier to use. But I would be using Premiere if I already had it, because unless you get into the very advanced stuff, they are basically the same. It's like mac vs windows.
