Sony Vegas Rendering Speeds

What affects the speed at which sony vegas renderes your videos? Does pre-rendering (shift-b) help speed it up?

For a 15-20 min video it currently take me about 2hrs to render. Is that bad or normal?

depends on your render settings and how long the video is. it takes about 2 hours for me and they are usually about 15-17 minutes long

Ah so its not my pc being lazy, thanks bro. haha

Yeah my settings are for 720p video, 30fps i think and 10k bitrate if i remember correctly.
Yes it is your PC.
Not being lazy but being slow.
There are a lot of things to consider when you are talking about rendering.
Resolution( Raw file and final version), framerate, number of frames, bitrate, effects, your CPU and your RAM ( + you can use your GPU to speed up the rendering process ).
It takes me around 2 hours to render a 20 minutes long video ( 720p/30FPS, high bitrate, can't remember the number ).
But I have a 5 year old quadcore CPU and 4 GB of RAM.
My friend renders the same video in 30 minutes with an i7 4790k.

So it all depends on your specs and your settings.

The codec you're using makes a difference too. Sony AVC is faster than MainConcept. YouTube isn't a fan of the Sony codec but it works just fine.

I think im using MC right now. Its what everyone i know recommends using, perhaps because youtube doesnt like avc, im not sure.
