Sony Vegas Pro vs After Effects/Premiere Pro

After Effects is supposed to be pretty legit. You're right though, the inconvenience of having stuff on different computers is going to be pretty big.

I would just put vegas on your laptop.
 
You can use After Effects with Vegas too, but it's not as intuitive and if it's on a PC and laptop then that's a hassle. Personally I would go with Adobe. I'm trying to stop using Vegas, but it's just so much more simpler and streamlined. But Premier has more tools and with Soundbooth and After Effects, it's an easy sell.

I think I may slowly convert to adobe!
 
i personally have used after effects vegas and premier. for the editing that i do on walkthroughs and lets plays i dont need a great deal of editing so i use vegas it's simple quick and easy to use and has a way quicker render time if set up correctly. premier and after effects are the better programes when looking at effects and more advanced things like 3D. personally i would go with vegas hope this helped :D
