Sony Vegas Pro vs After Effects/Premiere Pro

Ok so on my computer I have sony vegas pro, and I've used it for almost a year so have basically got the jist of all of it I think. Well Mainly.

But since getting my laptop I have the full CS6 suite, should I change and begin to use After Effects and Premiere Pro? Or stick to Sony Vegas.

Comparision which is better?

Depending on your content, After effects might allow you to do some more advanced effects. In terms of editing, there's not really going to be much difference editing clips in Premiere vs. Vegas. Of course, there's no harm in trying them out and seeing if there's a place for them in your workflow.

Premier Pro is supposed to be awesome! but so is Vegas.

Honestly if you make the switch to Premier Pro you probably wont like it because of the learning curve. It sucks to instantly lose all the skills you had with your last program.

Yeah was thinking that about the after effects, I've tried playing around and looks alienated at the moment but I'm sure that will change if I practice![DOUBLEPOST=1370296433,1370296374][/DOUBLEPOST]

I guess so, but if I begin to use After Effects I will switch to Premiere pro too because I don't want to keep taking the file to and from my laptop and computer. Tough decision!

I have switched from Vegas 12 to Premier pro 6 lately.
Reason was that Vegas was rendering my videos and causing some pixalated scenes.

I googled this and found out that others are having similar issue. (Exporting to 720P Mp4 file)
I decided to try out Premier Pro 6 with same video file and rendered to exact same settings, and there were not pixalated problem.

So if you are not having problem with Vegas...keep using it, but if you are having similar issue, give Premier Pro a go, I only took me an hour to get use to it!

WOW an hour you're a quick learner. I think it's best for me to stick with sony vegas overall then but I will learn the basics of premiere just incase I need to use after effects for a bigger project it will make things a whole lot quicker for me!

It's entirely up to you which one you like to use they are very similar just AE is more powerful... but AE takes longer to render because it renders everything in a higher fps and with more detail. I prefer Sony Vegas because it doesn't use loads of your cpu etc and it's easier to play around with all the quality settings. :)
