Sony Vegas Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro?

Hey everyone
So I've been using Sony Vegas Pro for a couple of years now (since Vegas pro 8) and now I'm on Vegas Pro 12. But a Lot of people have been saying that Adobe's Premiere Pro is a much better editor and that It's the industry standard.

Which one is better? Why?

Adobe Premiere is industry standard, Sony Vegas Pro is commercial-grade software.

I can't speak from personal experience though. I've played with Premiere, and it's very powerful, but I haven't used Vegas.

I would say Avid video editing is industry standard. . . if such a thing exist. But i hate avid.

I have always used Vegas and havent had much of a reason to switch

I think Premiere is better but I use vegas. I'll switch when I can finally get my student discount on it. But vegas does all I need it to do for now.

Industry is primarily Avid, secondarily Premiere, and tertiarily FCP
