sony vegas or after affects???

Yeah I was under the understanding that Vegas and After Effects don't really do the same things.

I feel as though if you a knowledgeable enough, you can get more out of a Premiere Pro/After effects combo than you can with Vegas.

But this is just what I've heard. And like I mentioned, you have to take quite a bit of time to learn all the adobe video programs. They are not quite as user friendly.

What you say is 100 percent true, they are best used together and very good when done correctly :)[DOUBLEPOST=1371298861,1371298840][/DOUBLEPOST]
how costly is premiere? Is it the usual ridiculous money like Photoshop?

Yep sadly, or you can get it for something like 30 dollars monthly

After Effects Is Good for compositing and VFX , Vegas Is for video editing , if you want to go for an Adobe's product for editing, then go for Premiere , that's pretty good! :D :)

sweet i will look into it :)[DOUBLEPOST=1371301915,1371301881][/DOUBLEPOST]
After Effects is for special effects, it is not really meant for editing videos on. Premiere for that :)

sweet i will look at premier

What's the matter with Vegas pro ?
The big mistake when people want to learn a software is to believe that the other one is better ! I'll go for it...
NO !

If you want to improve your skill in editing, stick with one software and learn every inch of it and master it !

However you can add After Effect in the process with vegas, to add effect, intro, color correction, etc.
But don't go to change the software, you will have to start back at the beginning...

I've never really used AE or Premier so I say Vegas Pro. Though I'd like to try Premier out. Is it really hard to know how to use it?

No it's not hard ! It's different, if you are used to vegas it could take some time to adapt !
What I'm trying to say, you should stick with one software to learn all the secret behind video editing it could be premiere, final cut or vegas !

The only problem is if you want to learn editing, better start off on the right foot. If he gets good enough at Premiere, he might even be able to get paid gigs editing things ^^
