Something weird happened with my channel

So I don't know if it's anything significant or not, but on my realtime views, I usually have 2-3 views an hour, but a couple of hours ago I ended up with 23. The problem was that it wasn't on any of my recent videos, and I hadn't gained any subscribers from doing it.

It looks to me like someone shared your video somewhere. ^_^ It's normal, and I think it happens more often with older videos when you are a smaller YouTuber. =) It's also normal to not gain a lot of subscribers from bumps in views like that. I think this happens because videos are often shared on a different platform and the users may not have YouTube accounts. Once, one of my videos was posted on Facebook and was shared thousands of times within a day. Only one of the viewers looked me up on YouTube and subscribed... ^^
 
This happens to me every so often as well. Unfortunately I don't gain any subscribers from it either, but I'm glad to get the exposure. :)
 
Its not only normal, its a good thing :) View peaks are always positive, even though you didn't gain any subs from it
 
I've seen stuff like this happen with my older videos too. Basically, when rumors of the Nintendo NX possibly using cartridges came up, I did a video explaining why cartridges are superior to disk media, and why Nintendo should use cartridges in their next system. When the patent for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild mentioned cartridges in the patent, that rumor got more credence, so my old video about cartridges got more views. So those viewership spikes can increase based on trends in the media.
 
Yup, you'll occasionally get a share or your video will show up in the Related Videos on the side of a popular video or something. Take a look at your analytics and see what brought the viewers there and maybe see what you tagged and described your video with, to see if you can repeat the process of getting something that brings viewers to your videos!

I am now going to have to watch this video as I can not see how cartridges are better in any way anymore. Especially since SSD's are a thing.
 
Its normal :) I also had for example like 200-400 views a day and suddenly someone shared part of my video as gif with link and suddenly 2k views (and no sub change) - it is completely normal, and no need to worry about sub numbers ;)
