Someone Copied My Name

I've Got It
So yeah i just saw under my related channels a channel named mine. But was started several months after mine. They essentially copied my name and are a bunch of tattooed bikers. They talk about the same topics but aren't exactly articulate. Anyone have any advice on what to do? It's odd they have the exact same subscriber count as me.
 
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do. From YouTube's point of view there is no such thing as "copying" a channel name. You can get a custom URL but YouTube doesn't have "unique" channel names.

I get what you mean by copied but from YouTube's point of view channel names are not unique. They will allow an infinite number of channels to be called Booze and b******t.
 
Pretty odd alright to find 2 channel names the same (I personally havent come across any) and YouTube allow it to pass in its Username check. Theres not much you can do really but take it on the chin and move on. If it really bothers you, you could change your name but that involves completely re-branding yourself which is a bit of a pain but if it bugs you that much that be your other alternative.
 
First of all no way am I changing my brand because someone copied my name. Having created mine first is a good counter to them.

I mean there are things I could do... like get the official copyright taken care of and then sue them... But that's a real pain in the a**. Just a wtf moment.

Guess if you do something right people are bound to copy it.

Going through an ENTIRE law suit against a bunch of bikers, spending so much money on lawyers and what not and thats not including trademarking your name etc. You have to be real real real loaded to be able to afford to trademark Booze & BS. Well then like I said and the guy before me, cant do much bro but take it on the chin and keep doing what yoiur doing!

Yeah I know... I mean there are things I COULD do. But yeah might not be worth it.
 
Unfortunately people do use the same name. There are people with the same username as me on YouTube but I'm the one with the most subs ;) but none of them copied me I just changed my name recently. But this is why you get a custom url and your channel gets verified when you get really famous so people know it's the real you
 
The point now is to do it better than them ;D Kick some A, and skyrocket to fame!
Don't forget to claim that name everywhere possible... Facebook, Twitter... Get all the unique username accounts before they do :P
