A lot of people do it to raise awareness of their channel. I can't imagine it works well however. I'm never a fan because 9/10 you know people are using automated tools to add contacts. Which is lame and pretty much gaming YouTube.

Probably yeah. Try changing search from video to channelI added them, then I tried to search for myself and I still couldn't find it. It just keeps saying no videos match this search. I don't think it'll work until I get a video in there.
