Sony Vegas mb?

Moved this thread into the right section for you.

I will and have always suggested Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.

Well first things first, the mic and game capture equipment are great!

The Fraps, you can do a little better. Dxtory would be your best bet for screen capture. Also having a very fast HDD or even a SSD for writing on would be the best for game capturing. The faster your drives cant read and write, the better fps and quality your captures will be since it won't have to stop and buffer.

Sony Vegas Pro 12 is also an excellent entry-level editing software!

If you want to be more into creating more intricate and appealing videos and effects, I would suggest Adobe After Effects.

Photoshop CS6, or CS6:Extended if you plan on using 3D, would be an excellent choice for picture editing for thumbnails or banners and such, a free software like this is GIMP.

Hope this helps! Also, JackFrags on YT made an excellent DxTory video explaining all about it and how to set it up!

As long as you don't play the game and record to the same disk you'll be fine, a HDD isn't really needed (heck before I got my second HDD I played my games and recorded to the same one, honestly worked fine)

It's not the fact of writing to a HDD that your playing the game from that's the problem. There are thousands of things being written and read every second within your computer HDD. It is the fact that DxTory takes advantage of fast drives so it can produce higher quality clips. Say your drive can only write at .5mb/s and its pretty old. Well if your clips are trying to record in 1080p and writing at 5mb/s, then you have a problem.

It is best to upgrade your HDD if it is old or just a slow one, then just forgetting about it and realizing later that people like higher quality videos and that you should have tried getting a faster drive instead of bottle-necking yourself so soon.

Oh I know I use DxTory, as long as your disk is fast enough though, you still can record to the same disk. I've tested recording to my HDD and SSSD and frankly, quality wise and filesize wise, they're pretty much the same (I use Lagarith, could be different for other codecs)

- Just to be clear for the people needing advise, I never stated you couldn't write data onto a drive you were playing a game in, what do you think happens when you auto-save..? lol.. I am letting everyone know if they are going to be getting into gaming commentaries and making videos, having old computers and brand new prosumer equipment won't help you, it will hurt you..

Never said you couldn't! Just saying that as long as you have a decently fast HDD, if you can't afford an extra one for recording, you can just use the one you have till you can.
