Softer sound with editing

I have a problem with the audio. I use windows movie maker for editing. When I export my film, the sound becomes softer. It is really annoying. Does anyone know what I can do about that?
 
I havent used MM in a long time but you should be able to boost the audio on the timeline? If it sounds ok when playing in MM it might be an issue when your exporting. What format are you exporting out to?
 
Sorry for the late respone. I noticed that it already becomes soft when I put it on the timeline. Also, I used another editing software and the same thing happens. So I think it is something with my computer.
