Posting Mad!
Wondering if any of you are in contact or have become friends with YouTubers through this site or just on YouTube itself! Interested to see if you bounce ideas off of each other or how you guys connect!

What an interesting thread. I just got off Google Hangouts with someone who has a channel 7 times bigger than mine and in my niche who I found through this forum. But yeah we shared ideas on how to grow, our business and life plans. It's nice to be around our like minded individuals. It was especially cool to finally be able to thank him face to face for introducing me to Reddit, which has been a big factor for the success of my channel.

Well, in general I'm on good terms with a lot of YouTubers in my community and even though there is drama here and there it's never really directed toward me. I try to be as neutral as possible and I think a lot of people have noticed that. As a result, I'm on friendly terms with a lot of guys, but I never really collaborate with them and just talk to them every now and then. It might sound selfish, but if I'm going to reach my goal on YouTube I want to do it on my own and without shoutouts or collabs. Only then will I truly feel satisfied and fulfilled.

I think thats good that you want to grow it all by yourself but I feel that its harder , I think everyone needs friends/ mentors to be successful but I admire your determination

I actually had the pleasure of meeting people like @Juzey at Summer in the City because of this forum! Haha. For the most part, my YouTube friends and I hang out via Skype or Facebook chat as we don't often have the chance to meet in person.

That has yet to happen to me, this is why I got in this forum in the first place, to see if it could help my channel in any way

You know, I have a very unusual answer to this question. Before this channel, I used to have another channel called AzrenR. On that channel, I actually found it difficult to connect with other people in the community. I'm not sure why it was. It may have been because I was very new to the YouTube world, and I didn't know how to connect with other people in this space. It also could have been because I wasn't as passionate about the content on my previous channel.

With my current language-learning channel, it's been a very different story. I have been meeting new people, and it's felt more natural. I THINK it is because languages is my biggest passion in life, and has been for the past 9 or 10 years, so talking about it with other people is something I really want to do. There's nothing that would make me happier than having conversations with other people about languages (especially if we're discussing pronunciation & phonetics, hehe. I love phonetics :P)

Anyway, I guess my view on the matter is that the more connected you feel to the content you post, the easier it is to connect with other people on YouTube, and make friends.

The end! Haha.
