Hi,

I have a twitter already, which i've used for god knows how long.

Do you think it's worth setting up a new twitter, to go with my YouTube? Or stick with what I have?

God, starting out on YouTube is hard work haha.

I think that all depends on how many followers do you have now? And do you want that twitter associated with your Youtube? I don't use Twitter much.....but I think you have to decide is it worth creating a new account? Or would your twitter account mesh with your Youtube account?

I have 520 on my twitter account.

However, I'm such a "fangirl" .. think Tyler Oakley HAHA. And I'm not sure if I want people I want to actually subscribe to me to see that, idk I think it comes off "silly" and "girly" and I wanna be taken seriously.. y'know?
but then maybe I'm hiding part of myself if I create one?

The one I have is just me talking crap all day and freaking out that Joe Sugg followed me (not really, I'm trying to "act cool".)

Omg I'm rambling again..

Anyway, yeah... i don't know what to do LOL

520 followers is pretty good! ....But yeah if you're unsure because you don't want people to know you're that 'fan girl'......then that's what you have to take into consideration Maybe...you can send out a tweet with your old account, if you make a new account...and see how many come to follow you. That way you'd be getting the best of both worlds. Having a new account that goes with your Youtube...with some followers of people that already love you Even if you ditched the new account after a while...you'd still have your old one to fall back on.....

Her concern is that she's a fangirl right? That would be a problem if she was trying to become the CEO of youtube, but to be a vlogger? That's like something that works to her advantage. Youtube is littered with fangirls and boys who love all the contemporary shiz that goes on these days and then flip out about it and hand flap and OMG OMG OMG OMG DID YOU SEE ONE D DO... uhhh... whatever those guys do.... but anyway, youtube is like a breeding ground for fangirls, I'd flaunt it you'll get like minded people on your side.

And quite frankly, that's kind of a rule of thumb for the tube of you in general. Be exactly what you are because there ARE people like you on youtube, and if you hide yourself it just doesn't resonate as much with your potential fanbase. Unless you're like hiding controversial opinions that could cause people to turn against you that makes sense. But fangirling? Meh, let your inner squealing girl shine.

I feel like it would help get me 'out there' more to the public and it seems like it would fit me but I can't really get into it. Agreed. And twitter is like... the spammiest place on earth, but it DOES make things interesting if you can make quick brief jokes on people's posts, they're not expecting it and it catches them off guard. It's kind of like a game to me "How much laughter can I induce with only 144 characters to spare" The answer? Very little

As far as being self conscious. You WILL be self conscious for a while, I was, everyone is. And really the best way to get over it is to get some hate. Cause at the end of the day, all youtubers, good and bad, get hate, and it's not because you deserve it and you're a bad person or you suck at vlogging etc, it's because some people are ASSHOLES. And that's like... all there is to it. Once you grasp this, and realize that anyone hating on you is not pointing out legitimate flaws that you need to fix but just showing their own shortcomings at being a decent and worthwhile human being, the hate will roll of your shoulders and you'll just do what you feel like doing and laugh it off.
